LeanGP is described as "the first affordable and collapsible bicycle simulator." It is a dedicated game controller and chassis designed specifically for cyclists, compatible with various VR-supported game platforms. The Valencia-based LeanGP reached Kickstarter's goal within the first 48 hours of crowdfunding. The choice of consumer-grade peripherals dedicated to two-wheel racing is very limited. There are many bicycle games, but most do not provide any close-to-realistic processing because the controls are optimized for gamepads, and if there are no dedicated input devices, realistic bike simulations are very difficult to control. Because of the cyclist’s weight and positioning influence, it is much more difficult to combine hardware and realistic bicycle dynamics than a car. In this professional 6DoF Cruden simulator, this unique interaction between man and machine is very complex, ideally requiring human tracking and multiple powerful actuators to simulate the entire chassis's sporting characteristics through its various Acceleration and weight transfer status. LeanGP takes an even simpler approach, focusing on tilting to make it compatible with the simplified controller inputs of most bike games. The device claims to have "plug-and-play" functionality for gaming hardware, supporting a variety of VR headsets including psvr, Vive, Rift and even mobile VR. PiBoSo's GP Bike Beta (and related MX bikes, but as a Motocross simulation, it is not very suitable for this chassis). For psvr, only Moto Racer 4 (2016) has shown some promise as an interesting arcade racing player, but there are restrictions on VR functionality. In order to make full use of GP bikes, LeanGP needs to not only support chassis tilt, but also need a separate steering shaft to detect the delicate reverse guide to start lean (the prototype has a fixed handlebar). According to the project's "stretch goals", using actuators and force feedback solutions can achieve more nuanced movements, but this depends on the success of crowdfunding activities. There is an urgent need for more support from hardware and software developers to show the unique analog domain.
