According to the Hall voltage formula, for a molded Hall sensor, the product sensitivity KH is a constant value, then UH∝ICB, as long as the UH is measured by the measuring circuit, one of the two parameters B and IC is known. The other can be found, so any unknown that can be converted to B or J can be measured with a Hall element, and any unknown that is converted into a product of B and I can also be measured. The measurement of electrical parameters is based on this principle. If the control current IC is constant, the magnetic induction intensity B is proportional to the current to be measured, and the current can be measured by the Hall current sensor. If the magnetic induction intensity B is constant, the IC is proportional to the measured voltage, and the voltage sensor can be made to measure the voltage. The Hall voltage and current sensors can be used to measure the AC power factor, electric power and AC frequency.

It can be known from UH=KICB that if the IC is DC, the current IO that generates the magnetic field B is AC, UH is AC; if IO is also DC, the output is also DC. When the IC is AC and IO is also DC, the output is AC at the same frequency as the IC and its amplitude is proportional to the measured DC IO. The direction of the measured current IO is changed, and the polarity of the output voltage UH changes. Therefore, the Hall sensor can be used to measure the amount of DC or the amount of AC.
