Molex continues to be a leader in solid-state lighting (SSL) interconnect technology with the addition of Plastic Substrate Interconnect ( PSI ) products for LED chip-on-board (CoB) arrays. These customizable interconnect products feature a low-side, high-profile interface that provides power while providing a simple, reliable array of lamp holders or plastic substrate connections. With a low overall package height of ~2.00mm, the Molex PSI enables a slim design for space-constrained applications while minimizing substrate cost. Using the Pico-EZmateTM harness system, this solution integrates electrical and mechanical features with a simple solderless LED array connection.

The PSI connection system is suitable for high-density and high-light output applications such as downlights (tracks, pendants and linear) and area lighting (roads, parking lots and exterior wall lights). The solderless Pico-Ezmate harness is attached to the LED array base, eliminating the need for special processes or tools, enabling efficient connections and minimizing contact with the LED array, reducing the risk of damage. Vertical snap-fit ​​connections, self-locking features and gold-plated contacts provide excellent reliability. This wire harness is available in three wire gauge configurations and different lengths for a range of initial harness options based on application requirements.
