An e-government extranet covering all levels of party and government agencies and social organizations in the city, a community network linking all community neighborhood committees and towns and villages in the city, and five basic databases of population, legal persons, spatial geographic information, macroeconomics, and government affairs have been completed. A large number of informatized public platforms, such as the Municipal Enterprise Information Service Center and the “Cloud Computing” and SaaS-based Fengyun Network, provide SMEs and investors in the city with good services and support such as information sharing and business transactions. In the recently released "Informatization Development Level Report of Jiangsu Province (2011)", the city's "infrastructure index" is 92.7 points, which exceeds the provincial average of 26.9 percentage points. However, there are still situations in which the investment in information infrastructure construction is incompatible with the status of the city’s economy, the degree of co-construction and sharing is not yet high, and the issue of “information isolated islands” needs to be resolved.

According to the main ideas of the 12th Five-Year Plan of the city's information and communication infrastructure construction, by the end of 2013, it is necessary to take the lead in the province to meet the requirements of a level of regional standards for information infrastructure countries, and stands at the symposium to point out that the next step is the city’s information and communication infrastructure.
