The relevant person in charge of MediaTek told the reporter that the participation in the China Electronic Information Expo was based on the first trial of water exploration. After the post-show evaluation company made a careful decision, the booth area was decided to expand to 200 square meters, mainly considering two aspects. MediaTek is a fabless company focused on design and development. It mainly develops smartphone LSIs that have functions such as image processing, data processing, and communication. In 2013, the supply volume increased by 80% year-on-year, soaring to more than 200 million. The share of the Chinese market in 2013 was approximately 47%. It has increased by 14 percentage points over the previous year, surpassing its competitor, Qualcomm, the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer. ZTE’s executives said that MediaTek’s strength lies in its low cost and ease of use. Its product price is 30% to 50% cheaper than Qualcomm. In addition, MediaTek's business model of public smartphone design has also attracted customers. The design diagram is not only an indication of the configuration and wiring of the components, but also shows the operating system and development path in detail, specifying the recommended parts and vendor names in the form of a list. MediaTek holds the dominant position in development from design to product procurement. Instead, terminal manufacturers have become assembly plants.
