ROHM has developed a high-power, low-resistance shunt resistor "GMR100 Series" for mass-sensing applications in high-power applications such as automotive, industrial equipment and large-scale home appliances, and is in mass production.

This product has been sold in April 2017 (195 yen/piece: excluding tax), and it was officially mass-produced in October 2017 with a monthly capacity of 1 million units. The production bases for the pre- and post-processes are ROHM Integrated Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Thailand).

The newly developed GMR100 series has added 5mΩ to 220mΩ products with larger resistance than the previous PSR series to meet customers' needs for a wider range of resistance values.

Using ROHM's unique materials and structures, it has successfully reduced surface temperature rise by 45% compared to previous products. This not only enables stable resistance values during normal use or even overcurrent loads. In addition, the resistor metal is made of a high-performance alloy material, and it has an excellent temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR)*1) in the low resistance range. It is a series of products with high precision and high reliability. Not only that, but with ROHM's unique new structure, the product is lighter and thinner (0.4mm), which is about 47% smaller than ordinary products.

This makes the product easy to use in temperature-demanding applications such as automotive and industrial equipment, which helps to reduce design burden and further miniaturize applications.
