Recently, the Shanghai local standard “Lighting Engineering Construction and Acceptance Specifications Using LED Technology Part 1: Construction Specifications†and “Lighting with LED Technology†drafted by Shanghai Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center and Shanghai Metrology and Testing Technology Research Institute Engineering Construction and Acceptance Specifications Part 2: Acceptance Specifications are reviewed, approved and released by the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. The numbers and names of the two standards are: DB31/T468.1-2009 "Lighting engineering construction and acceptance specifications using LED technology - Part 1: Construction specification" DB31/T468.2-2009 "Lighting engineering construction and acceptance specifications using LED technology - Part 2: Acceptance specification" The extensive application of LED technology in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo has made the formulation of relevant standards more urgent. Under the guidance of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, the Shanghai Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Technology Research Center and the Shanghai Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology have organized a number of colleges and universities and research institutions including Fudan University and Shanghai University.
