Collaborative Robots Help China's Intelligent Manufacturing "Curve Road Overtaking"

China has been the world's largest consumer of industrial robots for five consecutive years. According to data from the Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (GGII), 136,000 new industrial robots were added to the domestic market in 2017, marking a 60% year-on-year increase. Despite this growth, Chinese-developed industrial robots still face significant challenges in competing with foreign brands. Industry experts suggest that multinational corporations have maintained a dominant position due to their early entry into the market and accumulated technological expertise. Companies like ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, and Yaskawa collectively hold around 50% of the global industrial robot market. In contrast, Chinese robotics firms struggle with talent shortages, limited access to core components, and lower brand recognition. Amid these challenges, some believe that the rise of collaborative robots offers a promising path for Chinese companies to catch up. Yi Jianqiang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Automation, explained that collaborative robots are a growing research focus. “They emphasize cooperation between humans and robots or between multiple robots to complete specific tasks together,” he said. According to the "Collaborative Robot Industry Development Blue Book 2017" published by the China Academy of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, global collaborative robot sales and market size grew at annual rates of 74.71% and 71.23%, respectively, between 2014 and 2016. Data from the China Robotics Industry Alliance shows that domestic industrial robots accounted for about 25% to 32% of total sales from 2013 to 2016, with only modest growth. In the first half of 2017, domestic robot sales rose by approximately 20%, lagging behind the industry's overall growth rate. Zexu Wang, CEO of Zeta Technology, believes that collaborative robots provide an effective solution for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) seeking flexible production. “They offer a chance for Chinese robotics companies to achieve a competitive edge in the market,” he said. He also highlighted the cost-effectiveness of modular collaborative robots, which can be customized and priced between 100,000 and 300,000 yuan. Their reusability helps reduce long-term operational costs, making them particularly appealing to SMEs with limited budgets. While China’s robotics industry still needs to strengthen its core technologies, it benefits from a well-established industrial ecosystem. This supports the development of collaborative robots, especially in terms of upstream and downstream supply chain integration. Wang Xiaozhe, another industry expert, pointed out that while Japanese manufacturers dominate the market for key components like harmonic drives, domestic alternatives have made significant progress. “Domestic harmonic decelerators now meet the requirements of collaborative robots, giving Chinese customers a competitive edge in terms of price and flexibility,” he said. He urged all stakeholders in the SME and robotics industry to focus on collaborative and reconfigurable robots to support China’s smart manufacturing goals. Yi Jianqiang noted that although AI-based environmental awareness has improved, there is still a gap in understanding intentions between robots and humans. He emphasized that achieving complex robot collaboration requires joint efforts from both the tech and business communities.

Power Transformer

The application of the transformers we produce:
1. Building Automation and Control Systems
In modern buildings, power transformers are used to supply power to building automation systems, including lighting control, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, and security systems.
They convert the main power supply to a safe and manageable voltage level, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of these systems.
2. Industrial Control Panels and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
Industrial control panels and PLCs require precise and stable power supplies to function correctly. power transformers provide clean, filtered power to these devices, minimizing interference and ensuring accurate control.
3. Machine Tool and Automation Equipment
In manufacturing and production facilities, power transformers are used to power machine tools, automation equipment, and robotic systems.
They ensure that these devices operate at the correct voltage level, preventing damage and maximizing productivity.
4. Low-Voltage Electrical Distribution
power transformers are essential components in low-voltage electrical distribution systems, where they convert the main power supply to the required voltage level for distribution to various loads.
This includes supplying power to outlets, lighting fixtures, and other electrical devices in commercial and residential buildings.
5. Audio-Visual and Entertainment Systems
Audio-visual and entertainment systems, such as sound systems, stage lighting, and projection equipment, often require power supplies.
power transformers provide clean, stable power to these systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing interference.
6. Medical Equipment and Laboratories
Medical equipment and laboratories require precise and reliable power supplies to ensure accurate measurements and safe operation.
power transformers are used to supply power to various medical devices, laboratory instruments, and testing equipment.
7. Renewable Energy Systems
In renewable energy systems, such as solar and wind power plants, power transformers are used in energy conversion and distribution processes.
They help in stepping down the generated voltage to a level suitable for distribution to the grid or for use in local loads.
8. Backup Power Systems
Backup power systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and emergency generators, often incorporate power transformers.
These transformers ensure that the backup power supply is delivered at the correct voltage level, maintaining power continuity during power outages.
In summary, power transformers are vital components in numerous applications where safe, reliable, and efficient power distribution is essential. Their ability to convert and distribute electrical energy at low voltages makes them ideal for use in building automation, industrial control, machine tools, low-voltage electrical distribution, audio-visual systems, medical equipment, renewable energy systems, and backup power solutions.
