What is TV system? The standard is the standard for television signals and can be simply understood as a technical standard used to implement television images or sound signals. This particular method becomes a television standard.

The television system is a method used to realize television image signals and audio signals, or other signal transmission methods, and a television image display format, and a technical standard adopted by this method and a television image display format.

At present, TV systems in different countries are not the same. The main differences between the formats are the different frame rates (field frequencies), different decomposition rates, different signal bandwidths and carrier frequencies, and different color space conversion relationships.

Strictly speaking, there are many kinds of television systems. For analog television, there are black and white television systems, color television systems, and audio systems; for digital television, there are image signal and audio signal compression coding formats (source coding), and TS streams. (Transport Stream) encoding format (channel encoding), as well as a digital signal modulation format, and an image display format. Since China's digital TV standard has not yet been announced, we will not discuss the digital TV system for the time being.

In order to facilitate the exchange of programs worldwide, relevant international organizations such as the International Telecommunications Union ITU have developed many international standards concerning television systems.

There are three types of color television systems currently in use in the world: NTSC (National Television System Committee) system (referred to as N system), PAL (Phase Alternation Line) system, and SECAM system.

NTSC system: US, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Canada and other countries and regions;

PAL system: Germany, China, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, the Middle East and other countries and regions;

SECAM system: adopted by France, the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe and African countries.
