First, the standard background

The purpose of IEC/EN62471 is to evaluate the optical radiation hazards associated with different lamps and lamp systems and to fully replace the energy class requirements for LED products in the IEC/EN60825 standard, adding to the requirements of photobiological requirements, including radiation intensity, radiance Etc., and according to the test data, the product is classified according to the hazard level, including exemption level, low risk, medium hazard and high hazard level. The EU part standard EN62471:2008 has been implemented since 2009.09.01, and the EN60825 part about LED will be completely invalidated at 2010.09.01.

IEC/EN60825 is mainly for energy test calculation of light of a single wavelength.

IEC/EN62471 is mainly used to measure the light in a wide band, and to calculate the time, angle, sensitivity and other aspects of the human eye and skin response to light.

2. Near-ultraviolet hazard of the eye (315nm-400nm)

3. Retinal blue light hazard

4. Retinal blue light hazard (small light source)

5. Retinal heat hazard

6. Retinal thermal hazard (for weak visual stimulation) (780nm-1400nm)

7. Infrared radiation hazard of the eye (780nm-3000nm)

8. Skin heat hazard (380nm-3000nm)

V. Judgment of results

1. Continuous light: no danger; Category 1 hazard (low risk); Category 2 hazard (medium risk); Category 3 hazard (high risk)

2. Pulse lamp: 1. Class 3 hazard exceeding the radiation limit; 2. Single pulse lamp not exceeding the radiation limit according to no danger; 3. Multi-pulse lamp not exceeding the radiation limit according to the continuous lamp classification method.
