On February 5, Lunda, a vertically integrated LED factory based in Taiwan, reported that its revenue for January 2018 reached 968 million NT dollars, marking an 11.96% increase from the previous month and a 1.04% rise compared to the same period last year. This growth helped the company break out of the typical off-season slump that usually occurs in the fourth quarter, with strong performance continuing into January.
In terms of backlight applications, Lunda is actively exploring new display technologies such as quantum dots and Mini LEDs. The company’s current high-end products, including HDR (High Dynamic Range) and WCG (Wide Color Gamut) models, are stable and widely used in TV and e-sports display panels, meeting the growing demand for advanced visual experiences.
For lighting applications, Lunda has introduced its Solar White technology, which mimics the natural solar spectrum to provide accurate color rendering. This innovation has been incorporated into its COB (Chip on Board) and various SMD series products—ranging from low to high power. According to the company, this technology is 35 times more efficient than similar offerings in the market, and it has gained popularity among European and American clients for specialized commercial lighting solutions.
Looking ahead, Lunda anticipates significant growth in its automotive core packaging series this year, which can be used in vehicle headlights. Additionally, the company’s IR (infrared) and UV (ultraviolet) product lines remain stable and continue to serve a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
